Josh of Arc where did you get your info?

Obama is related to Superman, and  born with Krypton in his hands. Ask his wife, she will concur.

Obama is maladroit/herky-jerky at basketball but knows how to surprise with quickness, snapping a crossover dribble in front of an inattentive defender and driving past him for a layup.

Obama's Name in Swahili means Lord ( Barack=Baruch= Lord; Hussein= Handsome)
Yep, in Engish it now means President 'Lord Handsome'.
Obama's Luo is pretty much limited to "musawa," meaning "how are you?

Obama's favorite dish is salmon, rice, and broccoli.

Does Barack Obama speak Swahili? No.

Well besides being a dem & a parent of two girls the same ages, we have Scrabble, Ice tea and Moby Dick in common, and I always regretted that I didn’t study to be an architect but, I have that in common with George Costanza too, LOL!

The last reported question about Obama's smoking was in June, and he said he had slipped a few times and sneaked a butt, but that had been months ago.

There are no reports of continued smoking.

I consider this 'he didn't' inaccurate.  But of course, Joyce, you and your hate jumped RIGHT on it.

First of all, why do you consider it inaccurate?  And secondly, what exactly do you mean by "hate".  Are you calling me a racist?  Oh, here we go . . .

Let's see how Mr. Obama takes all the criticism that is usually given to such a public figure (i.e., Mr. Bush).  Of course, we all know that Mr. Obama will be treated differently.  I guarantee that if we even think of saying half of what was said about Mr. Bush, we will be called racists!

Stop spreading the old campaign lies...that was all McCain propaganda. It's ok to tell the truth now. Their agreement was only to  meet and discuss/negociate the public financing option for the campaigns, once the final two parties made their nominations.

      However;

Dec 2007, McCain stepped away from THAT "agreement"when he procured a loan for 2,000,000 to keep his sinking campaign afloat. The bank had demands to guarantee his success or ability to pay the loan back.

February, 2008 McCain AGAIN had to procure another loan of 1,000,000 in order to continue campaigning. At that time, the bank that gave McCain the loan worked with him on a deal that FORCED him to accept public financing or they wouldn't have given him the loan.

      http://www.prospect.org/csnc/blogs/tapped_archive?month=02&year=2008&base_name=the_pete_rose_of_politics

It was at that point, PRIOR to Obama being named the nominee for HIS party, that McCain CHOSE to accept public financing on his own terms. WITHOUT negociating first. All of the other remaining candidates were able to sustain their own campaigns with donations from their own supporters

McCain, on the other hand, had to PAY himself to keep his hat in the ring, because he could not get supporters to donate enough. So, it was McCAIN, NOT OBAMA, that stepped away from their agreement.

Obama, was smart. Since he knew that he had created a gigantic donor base, and McCain had already committed himself months before, so Obama declined the public financing...WHICH WAS HIS LEGAL RIGHT TO DO.

McCain and his campaign were bitter of course. The republicans screwed up this election themselves by allowing McCain to continue, over others that were getting a LOT more primary votes & donations.

Well we can put the Bush years behind us.  Now the blame is on OBAMA who says he can "fix" the economy if he is elected President.  OK, now he has been elected President and he says it is going to take a while, maybe not in the next 4 years.  WHAT? Is he already running for 2012?

I saw a lady interviewed the other day, she said "Now I can buy gas and food and clothes, now thatOBAMA is elected President".  Can you tell me how he is going to help her afford to do something today that she couldn't do last week.  I guess she is waiting for her Tax break Check to come in the mail..

First of all, why do you consider it inaccurate?  And secondly, what exactly do you mean by "hate".  Are you calling me a racist?  Oh, here we go . . .

      (1) I consider the story inaccurate because it is not current. A report from several months ago about smoking months before that is not a 'current' situation.

      (2) I called you a hater because you hate Barack Obama. Don't know why. Don't care.

      (3) YOU said I was calling you a racist. I didn't call you a racist. I called you a hater. There's a difference.  Maybe you are a racist too. If I discern that about you, I will have NO PROBLEM saying so. But I called you a hater. And I stand behind that.

      (4) False victimization as "Oh you're calling me a racist" is beneath contempt.

      And you know this because . . . ?

If you really want to know the truth, I hate (yes) but not the man.  I hate that America (including you my friend) has been manipulated into voting for a man that we know nothing about.  The MSM helped to do it, and now there is evidence that they are starting to have their own questions about Mr. Obama.  I hate that this man was voted into office for all the wrong reasons.

Technically, bills of any denomination are called Dollar Bills - as our currency is call the dollar, and their paper representation is called a bill.

KRich is correct. BTW - Salmon Chase is printed on the 10,000 Bill (which was pulled in 69 from circulation) and he was never president either.

Oh, and JoyceAA, I promised my husband that if he married me I would quit smoking. 20 years later, we're still married and I'm still smoking! Love is love! I wouldn't hold that particular promise against him. Quitting is difficult. I've tried and it's not easy.

If he breaks "important" promises during his time as President, then of course, he should be held accountable, just as ANY politician should be.

It is easy to quit smoking. I have done it hungreds of times.

In the sixties I tried using Nicorette gum. I quit chewing gum.

Back then I quit speed. It was easy compared to smoking.

BTW. I found his movie choice interesting to take Michelle to.

I took my wife-to-be to Monty Python's movie "And Now For Something Completely Different".

She got someone completly different and we are still married after 35+ years.

With Obama, all of Spike Lee's movies are important to understand the struggles of people who are members of the minority.

              They will get along great.

Since when does a carton of @!$%#ing cigarettes cost $35? I buy my Camel Filters at $10.50 a pack, in Canada. And where, ANYWHERE, does it say "Barack Obama smokes a carton of cigarettes a week"? And why on earth do you think Obama and his family are somehow struggling for cash?

In the US, BTW... you can buy a carton of smokes for under $35.  No one said they were high quality, though.

Besides, obama is going to give everyone a free college education. That would include his kids.

Yeah, definitely not free. Thank you Kim.

It was my response to Mike's comment... voicing my displeasure with his use of the name of Jesus in such a throw-away manner.

People are so serious with such an enjoyable seed. Humor isn't recognized. (start saving for daughter's college.)

What really caught my eye was Moby Dick. I have one friend whose favorite book is Moby Dick. My daughter read it and they became fast friends.

I, too, smoked, for about 25 years - quit 15 years ago . . . after promising the man upstairs I'd quit (promise made five years before I did). Talk about guilt. Quitting was the most difficult thing I've had to do. Good luck to all those trying. (But please keep trying, they say the more often you try, the more likely you are to finally quit.) Bladder cancer is directly attributable to smoking - I know. (Five years this Jan and I can start giving blood again.)

I think he probably OD'd on it. I worked at a Dunkin Donuts for just a couple of months - had a blast with the donut holes and filler machine . . . gained 15 pounds. Didn't eat a donut for years!

You probably are lactose intolerance.  Seems that those of northern european descent are tolerant of milk, while those of southern europe descent are intolerant.  You have my pity.  Edy's Slow Churned French Silk graces my freezer as often as my diet will allow (have to watch my boyish figure, don't you know).

I am of northern european descent; northern Italy, Norway & Ireland (also some German and English).

I know I'm lactose intolerant. I didn't know it when I was a kid, I just hated ice cream. Didn't eat it between the age of 8 through 20.

If I do eat it now, I'll only eat banana ice cream and I have to have an acidophilus pill chaser! lol

                      Cheers!

Yay!  Basketball rocks!  But so does reading a Spiderman comic book followed by a meal of shrimp linguini.

People who enjoy comic books are very good at reasoning.  Comic books tend to define good from evil in very distinct ways (through characters and the subsequent actions of those characters).

Picasso - not surprising.  Picasso, in my opinion, is weird.

At tax payers expense?  Is this really a priority?  Last I heard him talk about it was gutting the bowling alley and putting in a basketball court - sounds very expensive, especially at prices the government is charged.  So glad the taxpayers can afford it, even though many are barely able to put food on the table!

He plans to install a basketball court in the White House grounds

Enjoying artists like Picasso who were abstract......gives you an indication that Barak Obama is someone that can look at something and see many different things....takes perhaps a logical face value impression at first but then digs deeper......looks at things from many angles.

                          Picasso is hardly weird.

Picasso Rocks!  Along with my fave, Matisse!

First of all, 'benching 200 lbs' can mean one time, or multiple repetitions. I'm 180 lbs, and I can (could before shoulder surgery) bench 305 lbs one time.  But I can only bench 205 lbs multiple times, but I've been lifting since I was 16.

Bench pressing is not a measure of muscular strength as much as it is of small muscle development and technique.  Consider a 180 lb man who can do 50 pushups..but can't bench 185 50 times ? Why? The muscle groups used are the same, with the addition of the stabilizer muscles, the pectoralis minor, and the anterior deltoids used to keep the bar from rotating on the lateral axis as the weights are lowered to the chest.

It has to do with the proper technique.  Breathing, proper muscle recruitment, and hand placement provide the optimum amount of force to be applied on the bar to raise it above the body.

Spikgary:  Thanks, man!  : )   I do believe building a basketball court at the Whitehouse should not be a priority at this time but there are many who think that ANYTHING Obama wants to do is perfectly acceptable and "devil be damned" to those who may see otherwise!

Sgt C:  I defer to your judgment as you seem knowledgeable on this topic.  However, I maintain that seeing is believing whether once, twice, or 20 times.

I heard his half-sister's fiancé's account of this on UK radio a while back. I guess a photo of Barack and a stripper would be worth a fortune now!

Favorite book is Moby Dick? Oh, no someone's got it wrong then.

Katie Couric: What is your favorite book of all time?

Barack Obama: Well, the bible is the book that shaped me and moved me the most. But, in addition to that, Toni Morrison's "Song of Solomon" might be one of my favorite books. It's just a beautiful, beautiful book. And I've gotten a chance to know Toni Morrison during the course of this campaign, and she's just as elegant and wise and thoughtful as you would want her to be. You know, it's always nice to meet somebody and they turn out to be just like you want them to be. She's just a spectacular writer and a spectacular woman.

Shakespeare's tragedies, whether it's "Hamlet" or "[King] Lear." There's so much in each of those tragedies. You can read them once a year and each year, there's something new, there's something you didn't notice. There is some insight into the human dilemma. It's powerful stuff.

and Moby D. not even an honorable mention.

His favourite films are Casablanca and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

he told Katie Couric his favorite film was The Godfather 1&2, "3 not so much". Also Lawrence of Arabia, and Casablanca. No Cuckoo's Nest

Barack Obama is a Communitarian, although you will not have heard him use the term during his election campaign. Americans will get a shock when the truth of his hidden agenda becomes known and they find out his real intentions. Bear in mind that Obama is simply a front-man for the New World Order Communitarians.

                                        Communitarianism

                                        From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Communitarianism, as a group of related but distinct philosophies, began in the late 20th century, opposing in its opinion exalted forms of individualism while advocating phenomena such as civil society. Not necessarily hostile to social liberalism or even social democracy, communitarianism emphasizes the need to balance individual rights and interests with that of the community as a whole, and that autonomous selves are shaped by the culture and values of the community.

but it's easy to identify extremist behaviors - they tend to cling to labels and "isms" and make comments meant to make others think they're wrong for not feeling the same way they do. recognizing that not everyone will agree, extremists present their view differently from the rest of us.

I'm neither a conservative nor a liberal, I don't label myself because I could care less what the mob thinks.

I define myself as conservative due to my beliefs, not my political party.
I always vote for the person, not the party. If they advocate my beliefs, then I will vote for them.
What someone thinks of me, means nothing to me. I have been called a lot of things in my long life. It just shows their lack of understanding of the English language.

-Deregulated many big corporations and over saw the greatest collapse of the US economy since the Great Depression of 1929 to benefit the international bankers.
-Illegally detaining and torturing prisoners on Guantanamo bay in direct violation of the Nuremburg principles
-Used the staged 9-11 attack to strip Americans of their privacy aka 'the patriot act'
